Dr. Joyce Mareverwa

Dr. Joyce Mareverwa is a general paediatrician based in Vryburg and serving Ruth Segomotsi Municipal District and parts of the North Cape (Kuruman etc).

Dr. Joyce, as most people prefer to call her, is a seasoned and experienced doctor with almost 30 years of practicing as a qualified paediatrician.

She is passionate about the total wellbeing of children from birth to 18 years. One of her special areas of interest is PMTCT (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of STI’s, TB and HIV). She is passionate about empowering mothers on how to breastfeed their babies confidently and with care.

We provide our patients with the best and most comprehensive child health care possible.

Developmental Checks

These are regular developmental checks scheduled for 14 weeks, 6 weeks, 9 months, 12 months, and 2 years, with yearly follow ups thereafter. Dr Joyce sees children until their 18th birthday when they becomes adults. She addresses all their healthcare needs including counselling.

Immunizations

Dr Joyce provides vaccination services for children from 6 weeks to 12 years, in accordance with the Expanded Immunization Program of South Africa. Most vaccines are covered by medical aid schemes.

Emergency Consultations

Dr Joyce always makes home for emergency patients. Emergencies generally indicate general danger signs which include: high fever, vomitting, diarrhea with dehydration, severe headache, convulsions, coughing with fast breathing and inability to feed.

Feeding Counselling

Counselling is offered for best feeding options for babies and children. Breast milk is the best food for babies. Mothers are supported and encouraged to breastfeed their children and to provide complementary feeding at the appropriate age.
